Field note / 01

When the road ends, the work continues.

Families gathered during an HEW Foundation community relief response
A family home damaged after severe rain and flooding
Flood damage and community responseHEW field archive

During devastating rains, HEW volunteers surveyed villages surrounded by water. When vehicles could go no further, they travelled by boat—meeting families whose homes, livestock and livelihoods were at risk.

The first responsibility was simple: listen closely, understand the need, then respond with dignity.

Program index

One mission. Six ways into the work.

These areas are connected by design. Better health supports learning; education expands income; welfare protects both when life becomes unstable.

  1. 01

    Education

Learning spaces, reference material and career guidance for students in communities where opportunity is unevenly distributed.

  2. 02

    Community health

Five welfare clinics and medical camps bringing consultation and medicine closer to families who cannot easily access care.

  3. 03

    Volunteer network

Local people helping us understand local realities—especially when roads, distance or disaster make communities difficult to reach.

  4. 04

    Digital skills

A dedicated learning institute introducing students to practical digital marketing skills and new ways to participate in the economy.

  5. 05

    Scholarships

Recognition, certificates and future-program membership for students whose ability should not be limited by household income.

  6. 06

    Financial aid

Direct, dignified assistance for widows and families navigating periods of severe financial pressure.

Our position

A person should not have to choose between medicine, education and food.

Our mission is to build the conditions in which families can do more than survive. Four priorities keep that work focused.

Program stories

What the work looks like up close.

A clinician providing community healthcare

01 / Health

Care should be within reach.

Access to a doctor or medicine should not depend on income or location. HEW works to provide free or affordable consultation and essential medicine through community clinics and camps.

02 / Education

A quiet place to think forward.

Our public library in Tando Allah Yar gives students space to study, issue reference books and prepare notes. Expert-led awareness sessions also help them make informed subject and career choices.

Merit recognised. Possibility protected.

In Tando Allah Yar, high-scoring students received awards, certificates and membership in future programs designed to deepen career awareness and healthy competition.

The people

Service needs stewardship.
